Reading Unlocked! Parent Briefing and Complimentary Screening Registration Form
If you are concerned about your child's reading and spelling progress and prefer small class sizes, come on down and join us for a sharing session on what we do in Reading Unlocked! to support your children in their reading development. Gain insights on how we teach the kids in our sessions and discover how your child can unlock the joys of reading.

There will also be a 20-minute complimentary screening for your child by our Educational Therapists, running concurrently with the Parent Briefing session. This will give you a better understanding of your child's reading and spelling abilities. Do note that there may be some waiting time involved if screening sessions are oversubscribed.

0️⃣ Reading Unlocked Bridging Module - Setting the Foundation

This module helps your child:
•⁠  ⁠recognise and form individual letters of the alphabet
•⁠  ⁠⁠produce and map sounds accurately to letters
•⁠  ⁠⁠develop phonemic awareness skills of blending and segmenting

These foundational literacy skills are developed through a systematic, structured and explicit approach, an essential module for all K1 students.

1️⃣ Reading Unlocked Module 1 - Blending to Read, Fluency, Sentence Reading

This module focuses on strengthening decoding ability and reading fluency, targeting the application of concepts like
•⁠  ⁠diagraphs
•⁠  ⁠⁠magic-e
•⁠  ⁠⁠soft c and soft g
•⁠  ⁠⁠syllable awareness, syllabication and longer word decoding

Your child will blend sounds and segment words to help them read and spell up to the CCVCC level (e.g. trust, clasp) and learn to decode longer words (e.g. combine, decide). They'll also be taught the Heart Words method to read and spell sight words, all to build reading fluency and comprehension at the sentence level. 

2️⃣ Reading Unlocked Module 2 - Spelling & Spelling Rules

This module focuses on strengthening decoding ability for longer words and spelling of words with multiple spelling. They will also build reading comprehension and fluency at the paragraph and text level.
